President's Community Safety Leadership Awards
President's Community Safety Leadership Awards
The President's Community Safety Leadership Awards recognize York community members who are contributing to making York a leading university in safety.
The purpose of the awards is to raise awareness of the important work that safety champions are doing at York, to provide much deserved recognition of their work, and to inspire others to become involved in safety initiatives on York’s campuses.
The awards will recognize individuals and groups that are helping to build a safety culture where everyone is involved in safety, looking out for one another, reducing safety risks and acting on potentially unsafe situations.
Awards will be given out each year. There will be individual awards for outstanding leadership from students, staff and faculty as well as team awards.
Eligibility Criteria: Anyone from the York University community can nominate any other individual or group for consideration or be a recipient of an award. For the purposes of the award, the York University community is defined as students, faculty, staff and businesses on York’s campuses. The geographic focus of the nominee’s safety work should be on one of York's campuses or in close vicinity to the campuses.
Nomination Process: The nomination period for 2019-2020 is now open. Please complete and submit the online Safety Leadership Award Form.
Any questions about the nomination process should be directed to Tara Berger at bergert@yorku.ca
